The ITW Start-up Model

Become a ITW entrepreneur!

High investments, a supposedly uncertain future and the lack of own products leave many people afraid of self-employment. Not surprisingly, Austria has one of the lowest self-employment rates in the EU. We now want to change this with a "start-up initiative" for the beds.

All information is here.

THE ITW START UP INITIATIVE

ITW START-UP INITIATIVE
FOR CAREER CHANGERS

"What has long been a tradition in other industries, shall now bring fresh air into the waterbed scene," says ITW founder Klaus Wolfsgruber. "A lot of talents are successful in their jobs, but they want to re-orient themselves. This is where the ITW initiative begins: it allows for a cautious entry into the new industry without having to give up the old job completely."

STEP BY STEP INTO INDEPENDENCE

At the beginning there is detailed information and advice of the interested parties. First, the personal motivation is questioned, individual financing models discussed and possible sites evaluated. The aim is to create the most realistic possible future scenario for prospective buyers. The focus here is not utopian profit promises, but an honest, long-term plan for the joint project. If one agrees fundamentally, the candidate has two business models to choose from. Both are based on a moderate financing plan.

The business plan is based on the lowest possible starting budget and the gradual expansion of business activity. Initially a commitment of a few hours a week is enough, only with a growing customer base is the activity expanded, finally – in the ideal case – as a full-fledged ITW specialist trader.

BUSINESS MODEL
ITW „SHOP-SHARING“

In the shop-sharing model, the start-up rents itself at an existing ITW location. He can benefit from the dealer's network and use the entire infrastructure. Many ITW traders are not consistently involved in the business because of their extensive activities, resulting in enormous synergies. The billing is strictly concluded, the start-up pays monthly a small rent for tightly agreed business hours. Over time, the new ITW dealer is building its own customer base. After one year, the situation is evaluated and the further procedure discussed. This model is particularly suitable for conurbations in which the rent for start-ups would simply be too expensive. The attractive location in Vienna is currently vacant for this model.

BUSINESS MODEL
ITW „HOT-SPOT“ PARTNER

If the start-up is based on its own location, the hot-spot variant is suitable: a wide range of sleeping solutions can be presented on just a few square meters thanks to ITW padding systems (see above). The shop equipment was developed by ITW and allows professional presentation in little space. High initial investments do not occur in this variant.

FAST „BREAK-EVEN“

How quickly the investment will pay depends on individual factors. Our model calculation of a shop-in-shop solution can therefore only be regarded as a guideline: for the exhibition bed, the annual rent, the ITW advertising costs for one year, as well as the own ITW dealer website, the start-up with an investment of around 6.100,– Euro. Although we deliberately set the sales figures for the start-up phase deliberately low, this means the break-even after the first five months, and thus profitable profits!
